What I've Learn in Hamiltons class

This year in my Expository Reading and Writing class we have learn new skills on reading and writing. First of we learned one of the best ways to pay attention in class, using the S.L.A.N.T. method. S Stands for (Sit up in class) L (Listen) A (Ask questions) N (Nod) T (Track the teacher with your eyes). SLANT really helps the students to pay attention and listen to what the teacher has to say.

Reading could be really hard at times, with Hamiltons help and understanding of the story, reading becomes easier and more understanding. Underlining sentences and words help you understand the passage and where the author is coming from and what he's trying to express. Reading becomes easy and fun when you understand the writer and what the writing is about. We also learn that allot of examples and images creates images in the readers mind making the story more interesting for the reader.

Writing or expressing your self with writing might be one of the hardest task in class. Mr. Hamilton makes this task easier by making us stand up and just say what we wanna write and by doing that you express your self easier making writing a easier task. This has been one really good class for learning and I have to Mr. Hamilton and his good ways of teaching. Today

Tuesday, October 13 I learned how a sentence should be written, it must relate and be parallel like railroad tracks. I also learn that short paragraphs help the reader to see your work and a long paragraph makes the reader don't want to read your writing.

Today is a wonderful day for learning. Today in Hamilton's class we leaned about coherence and where does it apply when you read a passage. Understanding the passage and connecting words between paragraphs, creates bridges that connect the writing and make the passage have coherence. This is was a big lesson for our writing and reading skills.

Target the right people and people will want to buy it. In todays class I learned how blitzkrieg children with fast food advertising can influence their parents to eat at a fast food restaurant. Kids "spend on their own wants and needs about $30 billion a year. But their their influence on what their parents spend is $600 billion." this statement proofs how children's are the biggest target for fast food restaurants.

I have learned about sentence and paragraph structure. I learned i need to cut back on my sentences and use my words wisely. I bearly knew how to organize a paragraphy but after reading the sample. I believe I am very proficent. The essay we wrote helped me control my writing and i was able to use a broader vocabulary.
